What to expect

Jurate Photography is all about giving individual attention to each client. Choosing a custom photographer means that you will be receiving a personal customized experience from the time you inquire to the time you receive your prints. We will work together, from choosing a location, discussing clothing, to what size print will work best in your space.

When you decide you’d like to book your session, you will receive the password to my Client Area. Here you’ll be able to read and submit your contract, pay your session fee, see the full price list and read detailed information specific to your type of session.  Your session will be reserved once you have submitted your contract and paid the session fee.

Once you book your session we will discuss exactly what you want out of your portrait session. Depending on the feel you are going for, we can choose a park, garden or even your own backyard. Maybe downtown for an urban feel. Or even a location that has special meaning to you and your significant others. These are all great options for couples, seniors, families and children. I’ll guide you to choose a fantastic wardrobe that will make everyone stand out as well as details on how we’ll make your session memorable.

I like to capture a mix of lifestyle and portrait photographs. I will direct your session to help create those timeless portraits but I really love when everyone just relaxes, laughs and enjoys the moment. Sessions typically last 60-90 min ( newborns take longer). Plenty of time to play in front of the camera and take little breaks, as necessary.

After your session, your images will be fully hand edited and placed into a password protected gallery for you to view within 2 weeks of the session date. You will have two weeks to order the prints you like. Orders are delivered within 2-4 weeks, depending on the products you’ve selected.

Please note that I enjoy giving each family a true custom experience and take very limited number of sessions each month. It is best to book a month or more in advance.
Session times vary depending on the session type, location, and time of year. I always try to work around your children’s schedule, factoring in nap times, mealtimes, etc. but for optimal lighting conditions I would suggest adhering to the following guidelines: for outdoor portraits, very early morning (1-2 hours after sunrise) or early evening (2 hours before sunset) is best. For in-home portraits, morning and mid-morning works best.
